A carpooling site built for Manipal University Jaipur students, by a student.
Getting between MUJ and the city is expensive on your own. A cab to Sindhi Camp, the railway station or Jaipur airport costs around ₹700 whether one person is in it or four. On any given evening a dozen students make the same trip, at roughly the same time, in separate cabs — each paying the full fare.
You say where you are going and when. Poolmate shows you other students already heading that way, and you join their pool. The cab is the same cab; the fare is split between whoever is in it. Four people in a ₹700 cab pay ₹175 each.
If nobody is going your way yet, you create a pool and others join you. If you would rather not share, you can book the whole cab to yourself instead.
Poolmate takes nothing. There is no booking fee and no commission. You pay the driver directly, the same as you would if you had flagged the cab yourself — the only difference is how many ways the fare is split.
Poolmate is built and run by a student at Manipal University Jaipur. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the university.
