Nothing. There is no booking fee and no commission. You pay the driver directly — Poolmate only decides how many ways the fare is split.
A cab on the common MUJ routes is a fixed ₹700, plus ₹150 between 10 PM and 5 AM. That total is divided by the number of people in the pool, so four people pay ₹175 each, and the price you see falls as the pool fills.
Then you are where you started: you can still take the cab alone and pay the full fare, or cancel. Creating a pool costs nothing and commits you to nothing, so it is always worth putting one up early — other students can only join a pool that exists.
Yes — choose “Book private cab” on the home screen. Your request goes to a group of verified drivers, and the first to accept is assigned to you. You get their name and number, and they get yours.
The other students in a pool you have joined, and a driver assigned to your private booking. That is how people find each other at the meeting point. Nobody else sees it — see the privacy policy.
You can only have one pool open at a time, so that pools on the board are real. Once your ride's departure time passes, the pool closes on its own and you can create another. If you want to create one sooner, leave the one you are in from My Rides.
Open My Rides. You can leave a pool, or cancel a private cab request any time before a driver accepts it. Tell the others in the pool chat as early as you can — they planned around you.
Yes. On Android, open poolmate.in in Chrome and choose “Install app”. On iPhone, open it in Safari, tap Share, then “Add to Home Screen”. It then opens full-screen from your home screen like any other app.
If you opened the link from WhatsApp, that browser has no install option — open poolmate.in in Safari or Chrome first.
Notifications have to be turned on from your profile, and your browser has to allow them. On iPhone they only work once Poolmate is added to your home screen — that is an Apple restriction, not a Poolmate one.
Use forgot password and a reset link is mailed to you. If the mail does not arrive, check spam — college mailboxes are strict — and then write to support@poolmate.in.
